[Announce] VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Clearwater, Hallets Cove, invited to MIMS

Hi All,

Volunteers are urgently needed this weekend as we head toward the Scylla
and Charybdis of obligations to the Clearwater Festival and the
Manhattan Island Marathon Swim. Toss in that other sea monster of
commitment, Father's Day, and you can guess we're stretched.

We need people to provide canoeing at the Clearwater Festival
(http://www.clearwater.org/festival).

We need people to provide paddling at Hallets Cove, our weekly program.

Qualified volunteers are also welcome to borrow boats to escort swimmers
through the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim (http:///www.swimnyc.org).
This is not an official volunteer project, though some individuals enjoy
participating.

Paul Baker, Allie Kuzyk, and myself are shooting up to the Clearwater
Festival directly from the swim, but that leaves Saturday open for three
of our four volunteer passes. The first shift of LICCB Clearwater
volunteers can camp over from Friday night to Saturday. The seocnd shift
can pick up on Saturday night. But...we may have lucked out! Stan
Dickstein, a great Clearwater friend to we smaller waterfront groups,
has scored some more passes for us, which might allow some volunteer
overlap, and not a restrictive handoff.

Also, as an aside, I'm writing this from the Creek and the Cave

Let's all get together on the water -- the Hudson, the East
River, and who knows where next???
