Nomination Process
Nominations for LICCB Chairperson will be accepted by Joan Dunne via email jdunne@elliman.com from now through Sunday 11/22/2009, and must include the word “nomination” in the subject line of the email.

People eligible to participate in the nomination process and the elections must have volunteered at least once with the LICCB in 2009 and must be at least 18 years of age.

The nomination should state the person’s name, contact information (email and phone number), a description of their volunteer activity with the group, why they would like to volunteer as Chairperson, and what they propose to do as Chairperson.

Joan will confirm that the person nominated for Chairperson is willing to accept the position, prior to creating a ballot.

A ballot will be emailed to the LICCB mailing list on Monday 11/23/09.

Election
The election will be held at the next meeting, Thursday 12/10/2009 from 7PM to 8:30PM..

Those unable to attend the election meeting may submit a proxy vote to Joan on 12/10/2009 by end of day (midnight) with the word “election” in the subject line of the email..

Joan will count the ballots and announce the results on 12/11 via email to the volunteer list as well as the Board of Directors for the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe club. The LICCB is a committee of the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club which reviews and approves all elected committee chairpersons.

Course of Redress in Case of Dispute
If anyone wishes to contest the election results, a complaint must be lodged with Joan prior to 12/15. In the case that this happens, the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club will be notified and a process for solving the complaint will be decided upon by the GDCC.
