Another Happy Paddler
Sometimes (actually pretty often!) we are reminded yet again why we do this and why we love it so much. Thank you Tania Chan for taking a moment to let us know how much you enjoyed your experience with Long Island City Community Boathouse.
Here’s what Tania sent us after enjoying a great time on the East River with LICCB:
*I thought after living in New York City for over 30 years, I had seen and
done everything out there that the city has to offer but kayaking on the
East River last Friday was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever
had, period! It is hands down, most definitely, the best time I’ve had in NY
in over 10 years! *
*
*
*At first, when I heard about the LIC Boat House organization and how they
take people out on the East River, I was excited for sure but in
actuality every moment of the entire experience from the minute we left the
dock with our kayaks, till the time we returned from our trip, exceeded all
my expectations! There’s nothing comparable to this kind of experience. I
have never kayaked before and to be on the water with the NY skyline as a
back drop was an absolute surreal feeling. *
*
*
*In addition, everyone in the group we met was so cool and easy going,
especially each of the volunteers (the Veteran Kayakers) who were obviously
extremely knowledgeable and generous with their time. They were incredible,
showing everyone else the ropes and keeping all of us safe. I felt
incredibly fortunate to be the recipient of and to be treated with
such generosity and kindness and to have had this experience for FREE!!*
*
*
*I’m hooked now. I will definitely go back to the LIC Boathouse again and
again. I’ve discovered a new and wonderful pursuit that combines both
physical activity which provides enormous satisfaction and a great sense of
adventure with the backdrop of the most amazing city in the world, there’s
nothing out there that can beat this!*
