This coming Sunday the tides are favorable for a cool and breezy trip to Hallets Cove from Anabel Basin in the late morning, and back to Anabel in the early evening.

Have you come out to pitch in or enjoy this signature program of the LICCB this 2011 season?  Hallets Cove is a pleasant part of Socrates Sculpture Park.  It’s located just north of the park along the Vernon Boulevard near Broadway on the western Queens waterfront.

For several years running now, we are out there putting people in boats and encouraging local residents to enjoy even more of their natural surroundings.  This public paddling program, open to all, is a big part of bringing some of the locals into a relationship with the water they didn’t even realize was possible.  And it’s only getting better.

As an organization run entirely on volunteer effort and voluntary donations, the Long Island City Community Boathouse is always deserving of energetic individuals who wish to contribute to the quality of life in our fair city.

Plus, we just got in a fresh batch of pink LICCB T-shirts with VOLUNTEER emblazoned across the back, come and start to earn one to own and wear with pride!

We’re looking for a few good men, and women…just no pets on the beach please…

Go to the Calendar to check it out, Request A Trip and come along!

Happy Summer to all.
