Thank you Volunteers!
The long holiday weekend was great. Chef Bob launched the first BBQ of the season and new volunteers received Orientation Day II. Thank you to all of the volunteers who came by to help out. Some didn’t even paddle, but helped us prepare for and launch trips. Volunteers came by the boathouse to do some admin work. A one hour meeting was very fruitful. Your time with us is highly appreciated. A big round of applause to the many of you that helped out at Hallets Cove this weekend! We’re ready for Opening Day on June 6th.

Surprise Trip Tonight! Fri May 29 – 6pm, Manhattan Henge Fri Night Paddle
Come to Long Island City at 4601 5th Street, LIC, NY 11101. Trip starts and ends at boathouse at 4601 5th street. No reservation, no experience needed. Adults over 18 only and no pets on river trips. Participants must be able to swim. Wear clothing and footwear that can get wet.
Contributions enable LICCB to continue to offer public paddling programs and are gratefully accepted.

Sat May 30, 2p – 6p, Community Sponsored Kayaking at Anable Basin
Come to Anable Basin (behind the LIC Flea) for free kayaking or canoeing. No reservation, no experience needed. All ages are welcome, but minors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants must be able to swim. Wear clothing and footwear that can get wet. Dogs are welcome at this event!
Contributions enable LICCB to continue to offer public paddling programs and are gratefully accepted.

This is an easy-to-moderate trip leaving from Anable Basin in Long island City. Adults 18 and over only and no pets on river trips.

Sun May 31, 7a – 10:30a, Roosevelt Island Circumnavigation
Slow and easy paddle around every inch of the Roosevelt Island shoreline. Participants can request up to 4 spots for this trip.
This trip leaves from Anable Basin in Long island City. Adults 18 and over only and no pets on river trips. Time on water is approximately 75 minutes. Volunteers please join us at 6:45am to get ready.

How to Volunteer with the LIC Boathouse
No experience is needed to volunteer with us. Just fill out the volunteer survey form and you will receive periodic emails letting you know of volunteer and trip opportunities. Or just show up at a Hallets Cove kayaking event and talk to the people in pink tee shirts!
