This coming Monday night our parent organization the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club is holding a general meeting in Brooklyn.  All are welcome to come and contribute ideas and feedback.

Here is the information:

The Gowanus Dredgers annual meeting will be held from 7pm-8:45pm on Monday, Feb 28, 2011 at the location we had last year – Fifth Avenue Committee, located at 621 DeGraw / 4th Ave, see: http://www.fifthave.org/ We appreciate their support in allowing use of the space for free.

The meeting is to discuss our variety of programming of 2010 and to solicit open feedback on what worked, what didn’t and new ideas for 2011 programming.  We are currently seeking more canoeist, kayakers and rowers to participate and grow our programming this season. Times have changed with the Superfund designation of the Gowanus Canal and Newtown Creek and new opportunities may be available but we need people to volunteer and help lead us into the next decade.  You do not need to have any water-skills to participate – we need teachers, designers, accountants, cooks, artists, and writers who want to help and have fun learning the sports of canoeing and kayaking!

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Cheers,

Victoria Olson, Chair-Elect LICCB
