Volunteer behind-the-scenes!
Join us for our weekly office hours where we get the behind-the-scenes work done.
As an all-volunteer organization, behind-the-scenes work includes items such as website redesign, marketing, data analysis, volunteer engagement strategy, equipment maintenance, etc.
Every week we have a different focus and we have a working meeting to accomplish needs for our boathouse. Feel free to come by and help us out! We meet Mondays 6-9pm at Rockaway Brewery’s upstairs space.
MONDAY JULY 24TH we will focus on our participation in the Billion Oyster Project!
The purpose of this meeting is to get us all on the same page with access to the online/shared files we need to participate in the Billion Oyster Project and to get up to speed so as to enter the BOP protocols data into the Online Digital Platform:
1. File sharing for BOP and CWQT – who needs what, where, etc.? How to share efficiently?
2. BOP historical data – can we standardize and make it useful?
3. BOP Online Digital Platform for entering protocol data. Learning to do it.
We are in our 5th year participating in the Billion Oyster Project (BOP) and we have lagged in keeping up with the advances of the overall BOP program. Being able to share our data, (especially 5 years of history) can be a real contribution to this regional education/research project!
If you’re interested – stop by!
