For City of Water Day, with the help of great volunteers, we executed multiple events in spite of morning thunderstorms. Intrepid volunteers stuck around and when the weather cleared around 10:30, we offered remaining morning guests a paddle to Newtown Creek and back before setting up for the afternoon events--walkups at Anable Basin and Gantry Plaza State Park. We welcomed hundreds of new and not-so-new kayakers, who celebrated our City of Water by paddling up a storm! We even hosted one great dog at Anable Basin. Unfortunately, due to impending poor weather, all LIC Boathouse on water activities for tonight have been cancelled. This includes the following - One way Trip from Anable Basin to Hallets Cove 4p - 6p Community Sponsored Paddling at Hallets Cove 6p - 8p One Way Trip from Hallets Cove to Anable Basin 8p - 10p We invite experienced volunteers to join us this Friday. We invite guests to join us this Saturday and volunteers to sign up this Saturday for our City of Water Day activities!
