Thank you Volunteers! Last Saturday's official Opening Day 2015 was a fun day of trips to and from Hallet's Cove. In between we ran a day of community sponsored kayaking at the cove. At the end of the day volunteers enjoyed a tasty Mediterranean Grill by Chef Bob Hartling! It was exciting to meet volunteers from the fledgling Stuyvesant Cove Boathouse. They volunteered with us as one step in many that will eventually lead to a functioning boathouse on Manhattan's East Side! Thank you Volunteers! We ended the month of May with some terrific kayaking last weekend! It started with Friday night Surprise Manhattan Henge paddle. Following was a sunny Saturday for LICCB's our first Anable Basin public walkup kayaking next to the LIC Flea and Food. We welcomed lots of first-timers, veteran kayakers, toddlers, teens, plus even a few dogs to the pleasures of being on the water. Mini-trips just outside the basin gave LIC paddlers a taste of the East River guided by our on-water volunteer squad.
