Gantry Plaza State Park opens the gate to Long Island City Community Boathouse for the first time to provide free kayaking. We launch at the southern most pier (Pier 4) Tuesday, July 8th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and again on Saturday, July 12 from 11am to 3pm as part of City of Water Day alongside our peer community groups Green Shores NYC, Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, Long Island City Community ...Gardens, and Friends of Queens Library at Hunters Point. Greetings from the LIC Boathouse, Our past weekend was our season kickoff for 2014 with folks getting their feet wet at Hallets Cove, including students from Riis Academy! Get the summer started this Saturday with our Paddle to Brooklyn Bridge Park and then on Sunday, a trip to Governors Island.  We’ll wrap up with a Monday trip to Red Hook, plus more upcoming fun on our calendar!  Don’t forget to register for the trips on our Request a Trip link!
